The Hello world: 2020

This is an old article published on my old blog on 19-12-2019. Re-published here without any edits.

Hello, 2020! How is it going? Am I early? However, since we are here, let's start

I did a B.Sc. and somehow got interested in computer science. I moved to Bangalore around two and a half years ago and started chasing a career in software engineering. This year, I started my full-time job. So, 2019 was good overall. Now, let's plan my 2020.

I always used to plan my year loosely. But this time around, I am going to make those plans public. I am starting a blog to give updates on what is going on. Thanks to Shubhankar.

- Pass Google Mobile Web Specialist certification: Update, I overprepared for it and the certification was phased out.

- Run a half marathon (first half): If you know me then you know, I used to be a decent long-distance runner. Shubhankar inspired me to get back to it. Update 2023: I have a PR of 1:52.

- Lots of open source contributions, personal projects, tech skills, competitive programming goals - completed.

- Monthly Community give back. It's a small give-back thing that we were planning to start. My brother and I are keeping aside 1k every month, which we will spend on the people. Update 2024: I maintained 5% of my earnings after taxes till 2022 for the community. I am still open for 5% on a need basis.

- Organised introspections - I have been doing these.
